SPEED System and Fast Results

Fast braces results are key to a positive orthodontic experience. At Bachmann Orthodontics, we understand that wearing braces for the minimum amount of time required for tooth alignment is a major priority for our patients. Although there is usually little to no discomfort to wearing braces, extra care and attention are required in cleaning the braces and for a high standard of oral hygiene.

As a result of this key requirement, the practice is specialists in the SPEED and Damon orthodontic systems. Neither system requires elastics and due to their nature, tend to align teeth at a much faster rate than elastic based systems.

The SPEED System

SPEED Braces do not use the elastics that traditional braces need to align teeth. Elastics increase tooth pressure and increase tooth friction, which slows the alignment process. That is one of the major drawbacks of elastic based brace systems. The brackets also tend to be quite large in relation to the tooth surface.

SPEED braces use low profile, self-ligating brackets, and this allows teeth to move with less resistance and friction. The brackets are about 1/3 the size of elastic based brackets. This system lowers tooth friction, and this speeds the alignment process significantly. The SPEED system enables Bachmann Orthodontics to regularly complete treatments not requiring extractions in around 12 months.

SPEED braces not only achieve results fast, but they are very aesthetically pleasing due to their small bracket nature. SPEED System braces are also easier and faster to clean, leading to better oral Hygiene overall. Due to their fast alignment nature, SPEED braces also require fewer orthodontic visits during the treatment program.
